Ismerős Arcok
The band Ismerős Arcok has been present on the Hungarian popular music scene since 1999. Through their regular lyric-writing and composition work and their concerts attracting large audiences they promote and raise awareness of the importance of loving universal Hungarian culture. As an alternative to the current pop music trends, it offers the exciting and captivating musical soundscape and ideas that are absolutely unique to Ismerős Arcok, and which distinguish the ensemble from the rest of contemporary Hungarian rock music.
Attila Nyerges’s valuable thoughts bring the clear, sophisticated and accurately crafted melodies to the standard that has been a hallmark of Ismerős Arcok's musical work for years. In addition to the traditional rock music sound, their music also features elements of blues, jazz, pop and world music. Among the themes of their songs, the most typical ideas are family and patriotism, respecting and preserving our culture and values, and the importance of living in community.
All of their compositions are musical imprints of the six artists' souls. The members of the ensemble profess with faith and conviction that they have been active contributors to the recent significant social changes with their songs. In many of their compositions, they have expressed needs and wishes whereby Hungarian people are now able to exercise lawful rights in their homeland, the Carpathian Basin.
The “timeless” music of Ismerős Arcok has been handed down from generation to generation, making it a favourite band in families. The band, which once used to play in cosy clubs, has by now become a popular performer at Hungarian rock, pop, motorcycle and gastronomic festivals, town and village fairs, special municipal festivities and tradition-preserving meetings. They have been one of the most frequently touring bands of the last 20 years, having performed in almost all corners of the Carpathian Basin and toured successfully in Canada, the United States and Sweden.
Their records are consistently at the top of the MAHASZ sales charts. The orchestra considers Attila Nyerges's state awards, the 2019 SZER Üzenete Award, the Teleki Pál Medal of Merit in 2020 and – the most prestigious state award for decades of culture-building achievements – and the Péter Máté Award the most important milestones of their career.
