Kerekes Akusztik: Tűz és Víz (Fire and Water)

Acoustic concert by the Kerekes Band.

Kerekes were founded more than 25 years ago out of love for authentic Hungarian folk music. The orchestra's acoustic show, Kerekes: Tűz és Víz (Fire and Water), is all about getting back to that sound. The concert is a selection of material from the two albums of similar title, which are special not only for their acoustic sound but also for the places where they were recorded. The first album titled Víz (Water), which was nominated for a Fonogram Award, was recorded in the Turkish Baths in Eger and features songs from the musical tradition of the Turkish peoples, in keeping with the acoustic qualities and historical atmosphere of the baths. Tűz (Fire) was recorded by the band at a campfire under the open sky of the Hortobágy National Park, at full moon, and contains Hungarian folk music and folk music transcriptions. Members of the band: Zsombor Fehér - recorder, Csaba Námor - cobza, Ákos Sarnó - viola, vocal, Péter Sohajda - bass guitar, vocal, Viktor Fehér - drums, vocal.
