Melinda Balogh Ensemble: Tündér Ilona and Árgyélus
On their first collaborative album, Melinda Balogh and Tamás Jean-Pierre Bősze create a magical musical world for a fairy tale that was originally a medieval romance. The fairy tale and the lyrics are their own adaptations, but they also included poems by Endre Ady and Sándor Weöres. The music draws heavily on Hungarian folk music, but the rich and unique instrumentation and harmonization opens new doors to create completely modern secular theatre music. The stage version of the album features a concert-like fairy tale performance.
