Selection from the collection of Zoltán Kallós
The programme titled Fordulj, kedves lovam (Turn, My Dear Horse) is showcasing Zoltán Kallós’s collections, and the aim of the concert is to present his life and his outstanding character through a selection of the most important folk music pieces he collected. Instrumental and vocal folk music from Kallós’s homeland, Válaszút and Bonchida along the Kis-Szamos river, and from several villages of the Transylvanian Plain (Feketelak, Buza, Vajdakamarás, Magyarszovát, Szék) play a prominent role in the material, but there are pieces also from Zoltán Kallós’s collections from Moldova, Gyimes, Kalotaszeg and Nagysajó.
