Summer Night’s Concert of Mónika Lakatos and the Romengo

Romengo plays the music of the Vlax-Roma people of Hungary. Most of the members have learned this music along with their mother tongue. The orchestra performs traditional Roma folk songs learned from their parents, as well as their own songs and individual soundscape. Since its formation in 2004, the band has brought the good reputation of Hungarian Vlax-Roma music to 4 continents, in addition to more than 30 European countries.

For their summer concerts, they bring their more danceable party songs with Kossuth Prize winner and Womex Lifetime Achievement Award winner Mónika Lakatos.

Members of the band: Mónika Lakatos, Mihály „Mazsi” Rostás, Misi Kovács, János „Guszti” Lakatos, Tibor Tibi Balogh
