Visit to St. Stephen's Hall - A wonder of Buda Castle

Visit the recreated wonder of Buda Castle, the St. Stephen’s Hall! Since its opening, more than 150,000 people have seen the jewelry box of Buda Castle, one of the most important rooms of Buda Palace at the turn of the century.

The furnishings and decorative elements of the hall that won the grand prize at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris were made by the greatest Hungarian artisans and designers of the time.

The St. Stephen Hall was completely destroyed in the Second World War and was not restored after 1945. Specialists and artisans worked for years so that this jewelry box, rebuilt in the framework of the National Hauszmann Programme, can be shown to everyone in a way that is completely identical to the original.

On 19 and 20 August 2023, St. Stephen’s Hall can be visited free of charge, for which prior online registration is required on the exhibition website: www. szentisvanterem.hu
